“THEATRE”

Mousonturm Saal

3D-Animation/Performance

The new production by Austrian-French collective SUPERAMAS takes a position where the illusion of politics and the politics of illusion interlock the closest. Renaissance painting meets 3D computer techniques and the dramatic performances of Ottoman sultans from the 15th century confront the escapades of the today’s wielders of power in the Western world. “THEATRE” plays with the framework and the inversion of perspective, presents the true and untrue, navigates between reality and virtuality – thereby always endeavouring to distinguish politics from the image of politics. Or mix together all the more. And this time, the audience’s attention will focus, so we hope, as much on the framework as on the vanishing point.
