Simone Aughterlony

(Berlin/Zürich)

We need to talk

Mousonturm Saal

Performance/Dance

Simone Aughterlony was born in New Zealand in 1977. That same year, NASA sent their Voyager probes into space. A gold-plated copper slab is on board; its 115 photos, greetings in 55 languages and music from Bach to Chuck Berry could provide proof for life on earth to future archeologists traveling through the universe. We need to talk entangles two providers of culture, the Voyagers and Aughterlony, in a fantastic and pensive dialogue. Can we even imagine a future outside of our experiences and our models of reference?

Concept, performance: Simone Aughterlony * Production: Verein für allgemeines Wohl * Co-production: Theaterhaus Gessnerallee Zürich, Dampfzentrale Bern * Supported by Stadt Zürich Kultur, Fachstelle Kultur Kanton Zürich, Pro Helvetia Swiss Arts Council.
