Strict order prevails at one of Vienna’s rubbish dumps (aka collection centre for recyclables) until one day a human knee is found in the bulky waste bin. Other body parts soon turn up in other bins, all of which have been thrown in incorrectly, contrary to the rules of the dump and much to the dismay of the waste collectors. Only thing missing is the heart of the dismembered corpse. The police are at a loss. Fortunately, an ex-colleague is among the rubbish collectors, one who not only finds the missing heart along with the accompanying letter, but also has never forgotten the things that are important to consider when committing murder. And so Simon Brenner not only has a new case, but is also up to his neck in trouble.
