Things break away from their inscribed biographies. Music separates itself from the musical world map attributed to it. Bodies and thoughts are set in motion in a kaleidoscopic space. In their dance, the choreographer and dancer Tümay Kılınçel and the transdisciplinary artist Nuray Demir operate with material and immaterial things that have specific meaning for different communities in Germany. On the stage, a space of memory and reference filled with objects like carpets, cloths, tulips and goddesses, materials, song and theremin music coalesce into new, irritating interpretations via loops and remixing. “و WOW” is an exciting exclamation, an invitation to join choreographies of transformation, to question narratives of migration and to rewrite herstories.

Biography
Nuray Demir
Nuray Demir ist Künstlerin und Kuratorin. Ihre Praxis ist von einem forscherischen und radikal transdisziplinären Ansatz gekennzeichnet. Für ihre Projekte arbeitet sie kollaborativ mit Personen aus unterschiedlichen Bereichen, mit denen sie temporäre Ensembles bildet. Aktuell ist Demir Artist-in-Residence an der Bundeskunsthalle in Bonn. Sie realisierte Projekte an diversen Institutionen, wie etwa dem Haus der Kulturen der Welt, dem HAU Hebbel am Ufer in Berlin, den Wiener Festwochen. Zudem trägt sie ihre Ansätze in die Lehre, etwa an der Universität der Künste Berlin.
Biography
Tümay Kılınçel
Tümay Kılınçel arbeitet als freischaffende Choreografin und Performerin in Frankfurt, Berlin und Düsseldorf. Sie studierte Tanz, Performance und Choreografie in Berlin und Gießen. Sie setzte ihre Ausbildung in Istanbul, Lagos und Rishikesh fort und war unter anderem Stipendiatin bei DanceWEB ImPusTanz Wien und bei der Rosa-Luxemburg-Stiftung. Seit ihrem Studium in Gießen zeigt und produziert sie regelmäßig Arbeiten am Künstlerhaus Mousonturm so z.B. „Dance Box” und „و WOW“. Darüber hinaus entwickelte sie die Performance „Archiv-Arbeit VIII“ mit Nuray Demir im Rahmen des Julius Hans Spiegel Zentrum bei den Tanztagen Berlin 2016 an den Sophiensaelen und tanzte u.a. in „Bare Bodies“ von Ursina Tossi und spielte im Film „Nichts ist erledigt” von Kornelia Kugler (Symrar Productions). Im Oktober 2019 entwickelte sie zusammen mit Wicki Bernhardt das Stück „[ˈʃprɛçn]” am Jungen Nationaltheater Mannheim.
