Künstler*innenhaus Mousonturm

In their first work “Macaquinhos”, presented at Mousonturm in 2016 as part of the festival “Projeto Brasil“, the artist collective explored the anus as a metaphor of the Southern hemisphere in a choreographic roundelay about holes, sphincter muscles and the encirclement of bodies and thoughts. In their new piece, they delve into an exploration of the contamination by the North as a representation of hegemonic culture and consequently also of their own bodies. What is the North in each of us?, they ask in their current dance research about strategies, privileges, memories, power, territory, gaze and colonial hangover. They invite us to look at bodies: Welcome to the Zoo!
