Nocturnal Unrest. Ein queer-feministisches Festival für Theorie, Performance und radikale Flâneuserie.

Festival period: 20. – 24.05.21

The city at night reveals a lot about society: Who moves around where at night and how? Where do we feel (un)safe, (un)seen? Why? The lived experiences of women and queers continue to testify to the fact that nocturnal (urban) spaces are taken away from us by inciting fear and depicting threatening scenarios. But the night is also a place of dreams, utopias and an escape from everyday life. This is why the queer-feminist festival Nocturnal Unrest creates collective spaces of exploration and artistic laboratories that centre marginalised perspectives on the city at night. A low-barrier teaser programme (digital/analogue) is ongoing since October 2020. Let’s create feminist unrest on the Internet, at home and especially in the city. Together we stroll and flex through the night, in online workshops, audio walks, performances, talks, screenings and meeting spaces that do not lose touch with the analogue world despite corona-induced digitalisation.

Awareness and accessibility concepts, more information on the curatorial concept and of course on all parts of the programme can be found at www.nocturnal-unrest.de
