Le Sacre du Printemps 2013
One hundred years ago, Igor Stravinsky’s Le Sacre du Printemps with Vaslav Nijinsky’s choreography had its scandalous premiere. The Künstlerhaus Mousonturm and the Alte Oper Frankfurt are celebrating the probably most influential work in 20th century music and dance history with a common program theme. For this occasion, we are presenting three positions from Xavier Le Roy, David Wampach and Laurent Chétouane that are as unusual as they are different. In their short film Sackl du Printemps, which will be shown from 25.09 to 01.10 in the Mousonturm’s foyer, Doris Uhlich and Andrea Salzmann tap into this classic’s unexpected, truly botanical dimensions. David Wampach’s Rite can be seen as a cinematic WARM UP on 30.09 at 7:30pm: the short film accompanies its protagonist on her path of memories to a deeply personal ritual.
