Dear ladies and gentlemen, dear colleagues,

The Künstlerhaus Mousonturm is hosting the German Dance Platform 2016  from 2 to 6 March in Frankfurt, Darmstadt, Bad Homburg and Offenbach. We will be presenting twelve outstanding dance productions in the Rhine-Main region, produced over the last two years in Germany and deemed to have inspired artistic development in the field of contemporary dance.

The expert jury of the German Dance Platform 2016 has selected the following artists and

10 December 2015 at 11 am at Künstlerhaus Mousonturm.

The members of the German Dance Platform 2016  expert jury were Sandra Noeth (dramaturge,
academic and author), Eike Wittrock (dance historian and curator), Sven Till (artistic director of the Potsdamer Tanztage and choreographer), as well as Künstlerhaus Mousonturm itself with one vote shared by director Matthias Pees, dramaturges Anna Wagner and Marcus Droß.

The biennial German Dance Platform is the most important festival for contemporary dance in Germany. It seeks to present the aesthetic diversity, as well as the many different production methods that set precedents for dance in Germany. The selected productions will be accompanied by an exten-sive fringe programme.

The German Dance Platform 2016 is not only visited by our regional audience, but also attracts over 500 dance professionals from all over the world seeking to experience Frankfurt and the Rhine-Main region as the hub of the dance world for five days in March 2016.

The German Dance Platform 2016 will open on 2 March 2016 at the Schauspiel Frankfurt, Bocken-heimer Depot and Künstlerhaus Mousonturm. Over the course of the five-day festival, productions will moreover be shown in Frankfurt at the Frankfurt LAB and the Gallus Theater, as well as beyond the city boundaries at the Staatstheater Darmstadt, the Kurtheater Bad Homburg and the Alte Schlosserei in Offenbach.

Mousonturm’s cooperating partners are the Städtische Bühnen Frankfurt, the Staatstheater Darmstadt, the Dresden Frankfurt Dance Company, the Kurtheater Bad Homburg and Dance RheinMain, the
Gallus-Theater and the Energieversorgung Offenbach (EVO) AG (Offenbach Energie Supply Corp. (EVO).

The German Dance Platform 2016 is funded and made possible by the Federal Government Commis-sioner for Culture and Media, the Hessian Ministry for Science and Art, the Kulturfonds Frankfurt RheinMain and the City of Frankfurt am Main, as well as supported by the Freunde und Förderer des Mousonturms, the Allianz Kulturstiftung, the Taunussparkasse, the Frankfurter Sparkasse and the City of Offenbach’s Depart-ment for the Management of Culture and Sports.

The German Dance Platform 2016 is organized since 1994 as a joint project by ten dance institutions and takes place every two years in a different city.
