10 years of Alliance of International Production Houses

10 years of Alliance of International Production Houses

A Mousonturm rarely comes alone. As an international producing theatre, cooperation at eye level is the basic principle of our work. Theatre thrives on encounters, on the friction between perspectives, on the shared desire to experiment.

At Künstler*innenhaus Mousonturm we know: Spaces for this do not arise on their own. They are the result of loyal alliances in which we empower each other, passionately criticise and unconditionally challenge each other to reinvent theatre over and over again.

Ten years ago, Frankfurt’s Mousonturm, Kampnagel in Hamburg, FFT and Tanzhaus NRW in Düsseldorf, PACT Zollverein in Essen, Festspielhaus Hellerau in Dresden and HAU in Berlin joined forces as an alliance of international production houses.

This alliance has been generously funded by the federal government for the last nine years. Many thanks to all supporters from the Departments for Culture and Finances, from Department of the Federal Government Commissioner for Culture and the Media and the State Ministers for Culture Monika Grütters and Claudia Roth!

Our alliance strengthens the Mousonturm and many of our partners, artists and collectives, here in Frankfurt, in the region, in Germany and worldwide. The federal funding creates long-term and sustainable foundations for our collaborations.

We are delighted with the signals from all democratic parties that they will continue to support the Alliance of International Production Houses at a national level in the future. This is another reason why we would like to celebrate the tenth anniversary of the Alliance of International Production Houses together with the audience.

Only together can we create the open spaces that we so urgently need!
