At the end of the season, a new collective will be forming at Künstler*innenhaus Mousonturm: Whack-in.
Whack-in is aimed at anyone passionate about whacking or who has already intensively explored this dance style – whether you are a hobby dancer or a professional. The collective offers a safe space in which you can deepen your knowledge and dance practice. Here you have the opportunity to exchange ideas, try out new techniques and actively incorporate the dance style into your body in order to develop your very own movement language. Over the long term, we aim to make whacking even more visible in Frankfurt and promote artistic practice through meet-ups, workshops, courses and events.

Biografie
Maria Alejandra Ojeda (Maale) ist eine kolumbianische zeitgenössische Tänzerin und Performerin. Ihre Tanzreise begann in jungen Jahren mit Gymnastik und Capoeira. Mit vierzehn verliebte sie sich in Streetstyles, insbesondere in Whacking und Voguing. Nach drei Jahren Freestyle-Training und der Teilnahme an Whacking-Dance-Battles wurde sie unter dem Namen Zaytha zu einer der ersten Whacker*innen in ihrer Heimatstadt Bucaramanga. Im Laufe ihrer beruflichen Laufbahn wuchs ihr Interesse an Tanzvermittlung und Bewegungsforschung – was sie nach Frankfurt führte, wo sie derzeit an der HfMdK im Studiengang MaCODE studiert.
