In the performance “Grandmothers of the Future”, six women immerse themselves in the traditions of their own (female) her-stories and examine them from a transcultural and feminist perspective.
They search for differences and similarities in the lives of their German, Greek, Iranian, Egyptian, Ukrainian and Palestinian grandmothers from the beginning of the early 20th century to the present day. The performers – two generations later – ask themselves and each other: How did you become the woman standing across from me today? They focus on the cultural heritage that each of us carries within themselves, on a pluralised society in which different and polyphonic narratives equally stand side by side. Together, they create a space for negotiating social processes, retrospectives, future scenarios and shared dreams across three generations on two different continents.

Biografie
waltraud900 ist ein internationales Künstlerinnen-Kollektiv aus Düsseldorf, bestehend aus der Choreografin Phaedra Pisimisi, der Regisseurin Bianca Künzel, der Ausstatterin Ria Papadopoulou und der Dramaturgin Dorle Trachternach, dass kontinuierlich in unterschiedlichen Kollaborationen mit anderen Künstler*innen und Institutionen forscht. In ihren Arbeiten widmen waltraud900 sich zeitgenössischen Fragen nach Identität und gesellschaftlichen Zugehörigkeiten. Interdisziplinäres Arbeiten und Mehrsprachigkeit sind dabei eine essenzielle Grundlage. waltraud900 entwickelt nachhaltige Konzepte, die fluid sind und reagiert so auf aktuelle Entwicklungen.
