The Japanese Film Festival Nippon Connection celebrates its 25th anniversary with a six-day voyage of discovery through the diverse (film) culture of Japan. Visitors can look forward to over 100 short and feature-length films from a variety of genres, as well as exciting discussions with filmmakers. From current blockbusters and anime to documentary films, the majority of the works on show will be celebrating their premiere at the festival. This year's thematic focus is “Obsessions - From Passion To Madness”, which critically examines the many facets of obsession in Japanese society. The film program is complemented by a variety of cultural events. In addition to workshops and lectures, concerts, exhibitions and numerous food and craft stalls provide an insight into the art and cuisine of the island state.
