Ballroom 101 offers an introduction to ballroom culture, its history, and its significance as a safe space for queer and trans communities. It is deeply intertwined with the activist and social work of the community. In addition to theoretical insights, the focus will be on the fundamentals of Vogue Fem – from its signature movements to the expression of confidence and creativity.
Vogue Fem is a category and dance style within ballroom culture that emerged in the 1980s, created by and for the Black and Latinx LGBTIQ+ community. Inspired by iconic model poses from Vogue magazine, Vogue Fem blends various dance styles into a unique performance art form.
Panama Mulan will introduce participants to the techniques and guide them through the fundamentals of this powerful and elegant dance style.

Biography
At the young age of 3, Panama discovered her passion for dance. Starting off with various dance styles, she got introduced to Ballroom in 2018 and would make sure to travel all over to gain her knowledge. Besides walking the balls regularly and perfecting her craft, she’s also committed to creating a community in and around Frankfurt. Joining the Legendary House of Hua Mulan earlier this year fired a new spark in her ballroom career.
