Showing Street and Clubstyles Lab

Showing Street and Clubstyles Lab

For the first time, Tanzplattform Rhein-Main has invited five professional dancers and choreographers from the street and club style scene to share their artistic practices and choreographic approaches over several months in a residency format.

In a guided process with French choreographer Saïdo Lehlouh and staff from the various departments of Künstler*innenhaus Mousonturm, issues related to production processes, movement, style, community and choreography were negotiated from different perspectives over five weekends between March and June. Methodological approaches, artistic strategies and individual realms of experience came together – with the aim of reflecting on working choreographically within street and club styles, developing them further and bringing them into a productive exchange with the independent and institutional dance scene.

On 7 June, the artists invite you to a public showing to gain initial insights into the concepts being developed . After the performance, there will be space for encounters, questions and dialogue.

Performers: Liya Tsegai, Lukas Robitschko, Selina Ghirmay, Svenja Grüttner, Martín Ixora Peñaloza Cecconi
