Pihla Jaala & Laura Ahumada García | Raw Flow | Contemporary
20.10. - 24.10.2025 + 27.10. - 31.10.2025

This class is an invitation to explore the dynamics of space, weight, and physicality through a hybrid movement practice that draws from contemporary dance, breaking, capoeira, and contact improvisation. RAW FLOW dives into the raw edges of movement and the finesse of flow—merging instinct with precision, technique with movement research.

We work from foundational principles such as gravity, momentum, groundedness, and three-dimensionality. Through a highly physical and responsive approach to the body in space, the workshop investigates how we initiate and redirect force. Participants will deepen their awareness of anatomical structure to support risk-taking, efficient floor work, and fluid transitions beyond the limits of their current movement vocabulary.

Throughout the week, we will offer set material and improvisational tasks inspired by these techniques. Improvisation allows dancers to work both creatively and technically and the movement phrases are designed to refine articulation, and provide concrete pathways for integrating the explored principles.
