Biography
Alina Belyagina is a choreographer and dance facilitator working at the intersection of dance and theater, often incorporating video and text into her work. Born in Ukraine and now based in Munich, Alina began her choreographic journey in Tallinn and has since collaborated with numerous international artists and companies, including United-C, Hege Haagenrud, Isabelle Schad, Claudia Castellucci, Helena Waldmann, and Alexandra Pirici. Her works have been presented at festivals and venues worldwide, such as Want to Dance Taipei, the Laos Contemporary Dance Festival, Open Look Festival Saint Petersburg, Euro-Scene Leipzig (audience prize), and the International Solo Tanz Theater Stuttgart (special jury prize). She was an artist-in-residence at the V-A-C Foundation and received the prestigious DanceWeb scholarship at Impulstanz in 2023. Alina’s practice explores how dance can generate and transmit knowledge, blending the physical and cognitive to create intellectually resonant and aesthetically compelling work.
