Jaya Jacobo is a trans feminist poet, scholar and theorist teaching trans and queer studies at the Department of Women and Development Studies at the University of the Philippines in Diliman. She holds a PhD in Comparative Literature from the State University of New York at Stony Brook and was Postdoctoral Fellow of the Global Grace: Gender and Cultures of Equality Programme, funded by the United Kingdom Research Innovation-Global Challenges Research Fund, at the University of the Philippines and the Pontifical Catholic University of Rio de Janeiro. She has worked alongside travesti and transsexual women artists, scholars and community workers in Brazil, as well as with trans, queer and nonbinary Filipina/x/o performers from the Philippines and Philippine diaspora abroad. She was Founding Co-Editor of Queer Southeast Asia: A Transgressive Journal of Literary Art and Co-Editor of BKL: Bikol/Bakla, Anthology of Bikolnon Gay Trans Queer Writing. Arasahas, her debut volume of poetry in Filipino (Savage Mind, 2023; Pulso, 2025) was a Finalist for Best Book of Poetry in Filipino at the 2024 National Book Awards, and the translation in English by Christian Jil Benitez Arasahas: Poems from the Tropics (PAWA & Paloma, 2024) is a Finalist for the 2025 Lambda Award in Transgender Poetry.

Stephanie Misa is a visual artist and researcher whose work centers on decolonizing methodologies. Her artistic practice connects multicultural collaboration, curating, and feminist criticism. In her work, Misa examines phenomena related to the orality and richness of multilingualism. Her work has been shown at the Heidelberg Kunstverein (2025), Kunstraum Lakeside, Klagenfurt (2023), RMIT Gallery, Melbourne (2023), Depo Istanbul (2023), Vienna Secession (2022), KODA House Governor’s Island, NYC (2022), KW Institute of Contemporary Art Berlin (2021), the 9th Bucharest Biennale (2021). She was awarded the Art Merita Prize for Artistic Research in 2021. She graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna and has a master’s from the Interactive Telecommunications Program at NYU. Misa lives and works in Vienna and lectures at the Department of Artistic Strategies at the University of Applied Arts in Vienna, where she leads a Philippine Research platform called the Island Tides Initiative.

Renan Laru-an is a curator and theorist based in Berlin. He creates exhibitionary, public and research programs that study “insufficient” and “subtracted” images, subjects and artistic works unsettled by development and integration projects.

meLê yamomo has lived in Lucena City, Los Baños, Manila, Seoul, Bangkok, Warwick and Munich, and currently resides between Amsterdam and Berlin. He is an Assistant Professor of New Dramaturgies, Media Cultures, Artistic Research, and Decoloniality at the University of Amsterdam, a member of the Amsterdam Young Academy, and author of Sounding Modernities (Palgrave Macmillan, 2018). He is the project leader and principal investigator of the EU-JPICH project Decolonizing Southeast Asian Archives (DeCoSEAS), and the Dutch Research Council project »Sonic Entanglements«. meLê is the fourth winner of the Open Ear Award, the most prestigious composer prize in the Netherlands, and one of the 2020 KNAW Early Career Awardees, by the Netherlands Royal Academy of Arts and Sciences. He is also a resident artist at Theater Ballhaus Naunynstrasse where his creations Echoing Europe, sonus, and Forces of Overtones are on repertoire. meLê curates the Decolonial Frequences Festival and hosts/produces the Sonic Entanglements podcast. In his works as artist-scholar, meLê engages the topics of sonic migrations, queer aesthetics and post/de-colonial acoustemologies. 

Based in Kraków and Manila, Anjeline de Dios (b.1982) is a sound artist and researcher from the Philippines. Her practice of chant improvisation, critical writing, and workshop facilitation explores the voice and its cultural geographies of work and healing. Anjeline’s work has been featured in SAVVY Contemporary (Berlin), ArtsEverywhere Festival (Guelph), University of Music and Performing Arts (Vienna), Studio Plesungan (Jogjakarta), and the UP Vargas Museum (Manila). She holds a PhD in Geography from the National University of Singapore.
