Karambolage

Isidora Gazmuri

“Karambolage” is a Graduation work by Isidora Gazmuri from the Master of Choreography and Performance at JLU. The research of the work departs from the question: How and where does a body archive a car crash that happened? Through the idea of repetition, as an attempt to look for this hidden archive, the work does an individual and collective physical-vocal exploration of the many collisions: temporal, matter, memories, language, images; that inhabit an impact’s moment and its surroundings. With the German word “Karambolage”, as imaginary for a multiple collision or collision in chain, the piece also dives into the multiple aspects that a car crash has.
