Christiane Rösinger is a musician, a Kreuzberg resident, and a grandmother. As far as she’s concerned, things could go on like this forever—if it weren’t for getting older and financial worries. Aging can’t be stopped, but to earn a little extra money, Christiane decides to write a guide to aging. Without illusions, but with plenty of energy. It’s a powerful call to no longer put up with the way society treats women who are no longer young.
Yet it’s not at all easy to find a relaxed attitude toward aging yourself. This is evident from her conversations with her friends, whose varied experiences and opinions reveal a range of perspectives: there’s the dog lover, the self-improvement enthusiast, and the woman who’s moved to the countryside. Not a single positive role model in sight. Where are the role models? And above all: What good is any of this if you suddenly find yourself in the stroke unit at the hospital?
