A figure of a young woman cut and collaged from paper, set against a black background. The figure is composed of several layers of paper: a beige face with carefully drawn features — blue eyes, red lips, a gold earring — black hair falling over her shoulder, a pink top, a white skirt, and a purple accessory. The arms, made of beige cardboard, are connected to the body by visible metal fastenings (wire or brads). The figure leans slightly forward, glancing to the side. The craftsmanship is visibl

Danceselfies #unfiltered

T.I.A. dance productions

Backstage, uncensored, unfiltered. Two dancers offer a glimpse into daily life between castings, changing rooms, and sweat-drenched rehearsals. Styles like salsa, house, ballet, and contemporary dance collide with personal memories and insider knowledge rarely spoken aloud in the dance world: it’s about money, about being different, and about moments when one’s own identity — whether due to appearance, gender, or disability — was thrust into the spotlight.

With tactile and audible costumes, social media aesthetics, participatory dances, and integrated creative audio description, Tanzselfies #unfiltered invites audiences to experience the stage anew. Created for everyone, but especially for young audiences aged 11 and up. Open touch tour before every performance.

Workshops

In Tanzselfies #unfiltered, two performers meet and share their very personal dance stories. Salsa, house, ballet, and contemporary dance come together here, woven through with memories and insider knowledge. The accompanying workshop programme places participants’ own experiences of dance and movement at its centre. Inspired by the dances shared in the piece, each workshop invites participants to develop a small dance of their own. The starting point is the biographies and everyday experiences of those taking part. The movements brought into the room always carry a story with them: When do they happen? Why are they made? By connecting movements to their stories, language becomes a natural part of the performance. In the workshops, participants therefore not only develop their own dance steps, but also learn how to add information through language — creating the first foundations for integrated audio description. The workshop programme for Tanzselfies #unfiltered invites blind and visually impaired people, as well as young people with a range of cultural backgrounds and young adults, to create their own dance selfies and discover the many different ways dance can be expressed.

The workshops can also be held at times separate from the performances. For inquiries, please contact theaterwerkstatt@mousonturm.de.
