Hey Sister!

Hennermanns Horde

Boundless trust, passionate envy – and bound together forever. In the dance piece “Hey Sister!”, sisters fall into step with each other, fall into each other’s arms – and into each other’s hair. Hennermanns Horde dances through cool pop songs and tells of sisterly solidarity, power, and the search for community – biological, chosen, and socially shaped.

The piece takes an expansive look at the concept of “sister”: caught between closeness and rivalry, solidarity and separation, three dancers from contemporary and urban dance explore how complex and multifaceted sibling relationships really are. Themes from pop culture meet feminist questions around sisterhood, solidarity, empowerment, and new forms of community. And for all genders! The audience is invited to rediscover, reflect on, and reconsider their own relationship experiences. For siblings – and everyone who wants to become one!
