Urban brass meets rap. Following two successful tours in 2023 and 2024, as well as a triumphant festival summer, one thing is clear: Moop Mama and Älice are now much more than just an exciting concept; they are a perfect match who, with their joint album “Wieder Laut” (“Loud Again”), have opened a new chapter in the band’s more than fifteen-year history. As a singing rapper with Caribbean and Polish roots, Älice – known as one half of Chefboss and through her collaboration with the Spanish all-female band Ketekalles – brings dancehall power to the table. Her voice forms the heart of the songs, which encourage us to come closer together, reconnect and show solidarity, person to person. Stylistically, too, the collaboration opens up new horizons. Afrobeat and Phonk-inspired beats meet punky, earthy sounds and a generous helping of soul. Making noise becomes a necessary response to an ever-louder, roaring world – politically engaged and full of energy.
