Ásgeir

Ásgeir belongs to a generation of Nordic artists who prove that quiet tones can resonate louder than any pathos. In a fast-paced music industry, the Icelandic singer-songwriter embodies sustainability, intimacy and consistency – reserved, uncompromising and deeply authentic. With his fragile yet haunting voice, which often sounds dreamy, almost angelic, Ásgeir conveys emotional depth, whilst his works are characterised by melodic lightness and gentle contrasts: fragile falsetto vocals meet warm guitars, electronic arrangements enveloping folk-inspired intimacy. All in all, he is guaranteed to melt hearts, whether on large stages with enthusiastic crowds or in small venues that allow for and foster an intense intimacy with the audience. With his album “Julia”, released in February, Ásgeir can be experienced up close at the Palmengarten.
