The world’s largest Japanese film festival will once again open its doors e.g. in Künstler*innenhaus Mousonturm , inviting visitors to immerse themselves in the fascinating world of Japanese film and culture. With over 130 short and feature films, audiences can expect a rich program that celebrates the diversity of contemporary Japanese cinema – including numerous German, European, and international premieres in the presence of the filmmakers. This year’s thematic focus “Shades of Reality – Between Truth and Fiction” explores the tension between staging and reality. The festival also features a packed supporting program, which includes fascinating lectures, informative workshops, rousing concerts, and a Japanese market with a wide variety of food stalls and craft vendors.
