The city awakens. It stretches. It yawns. And with a deep sigh, it releases the stream of people from its doors and tunnels.
A girl arrives in the city for the first time and wonders if she belongs here. A zebra was spotted but never found again. As both of them dive into the swarm, the invisible city grows around them. Fantastical, musical, and full of imaginative imagery and surprising transformations, new connections emerge within the neighborhood and beyond the boundaries of the theater: How do we want to live together in a divided world?
In this Scottish-German play, Tortoise in a Nutshell and TheaterGrueneSosse bring to life a life-size pop-up picture book for everyone ages 8 and up.
Please note: All performances of “The Invisible City” will take place with a reduced capacity of 60 people total in a “stage-on-stage” configuration (the audience sits on the stage).
