Contemporary Technique - Floorwork

This training is based on contemporary floorwork technique, with a focus on spiraling pathways into and out of the floor. We begin with guided somatic exercises to develop awareness of weight, breath, and joint articulation, preparing the body for efficient and grounded movement.

Through progressive exercises and set sequences, participants explore how spiraling actions generate momentum and facilitate smooth transitions in movement coordination. Strength is also developed through repetition, contact with the floor and the integration of upper and lower body connections.

The training includes primarily solo work, with occasional partner exercises to deepen spatial awareness and responsiveness. Attention is given to shifting directions within the body, helping dancers build clarity in movement initiation and control, and translating these oppositions into dynamic, continuous motion.
