An evening that drifts, surprises, and reimagines the episodes of life and art: In “Frankfurt (Photo Dump)” the artist, writer and performance maker Tim Etchells approaches his own practice through a chaotic set of images which draw from his personal archive, performance and other documentation. The result is somewhere between lecture, disorganized anecdote and confession; a speculation about life and images, work and writing, performance, process and the spaces in between.
Alongside his work as an artist Etchells has long pioneered alternative ways of framing his practice through different modes of writing and performative lectures, often mixing fragments of fiction, description of process and personal material. “Frankfurt (Photo Dump)” continues this exploration to create a compelling introduction to Etchells’ work via a series of unexpected routes.
