In "Make me stop smoking", the Lebanese writer and director Rabih Mroué reconstructs the radical heterogeneous landscape of Lebanon, destroyed by crises and wars, with the aid of countless anonymous and personal documents, videos, photos, newspaper clipping and eyewitness reports. In doing so, he questions the veracity and contingency of the archive documents as much as he negotiates the validity of the reconstructed “reality”.
Participation in the event takes place via the software Zoom by which the audience can see the performance live, make comments and exchange visions and insights afterwards. At the same time, the show can also be followed in the livestream.
