An interesting and inevitable connection is that between music and dancers. How important is music for dancing? How much can musicians and dancers communicate without words? Is a rehearsed choreography necessary to bring something on stage, or is it possible to create everything on the spot? This improvisational concept is the basis for the new format “Musicians meet Freestyle Dancers” presented by Random Circles.
Following the “Jam & Connect” to relax, two dance performances will be shown at the end of the festival: “We speak fluently” is about “4 countries 1 house”. In times of solidarity, it is all the more important to show what unites us as humans. The core of this dance piece are the dancers, who express their similarities in special ways through house culture. House dance, which originated in America, came to Europe via France in the late 90s. And thus an important foundation stone was laid for European house culture. “We speak fluently” is a tribute to the people who brought this culture to Europe and gave it a special depth. The piece “VOILÀ” is inspired by the chain reaction of events in the year 2020. It is about the reactions of people to brutal events. Through movement, dancers translate the consequences of violence, how it changes us, transforms us or not.
