A body turning on several axes at the same time, gliding across the floor at lightning speed, then coming to stillness – Bruno Beltrão, one of Brazil’s most successful choreographers, lets the perception of time and space erupt with his dance pieces. With his Grupo de Rua, he has fused the vocabulary of the urban – the gestures, movements and rituals of street dance, break dance and hip hop – with the techniques of contemporary dance like no other. Several times delayed by the pandemic and the political situation in Brazil, Beltrão is finally developing a new piece that will premiere in Frankfurt in April.
