What if the elders of society are the real technology experts? As witnesses of enormous industrial and technological changes, Melanie Bonajo makes them the subject of her film. Selfie-sticks meet walkers, personal anecdotes from the last 85 years intersect common narratives of progress. So much for “digital natives” – the grey-haired so-called silver surfers demonstrate their media competence, which has grown over the years, and crack jokes so hard that the smileys just giggle across the screen.
