Songs for no one

Mousonturm Saal

Performance

The phone rings and a dialing tone is heard. “What does freedom mean to you?” a voice asks. The woman on stage begins a conversation with two schoolchildren from Iran while she paints her skin pink with a brush. The two pupils talk about computer games, their plans for New Year’s Eve, about banal situations but also meaningful encounters. In the process they repeatedly touch very lightly on big themes such as bravery and integrity, censorship, self-censorship and dictatorship. Razawi Khorasani, who appears on stage herself, offers her young interlocutors a unique space to talk, accompanied by a superb soundtrack which has also been created with the young people.
