In this workshop, Walid Raad will outline some of the formal, technical, historical, personal, and critical dimensions that shaped his works over the past 30 years. The workshop will explore his relation to analog and digital photography; How violence affects bodies, minds, culture and tradition; The Lebanese hot and cold wars and the stories and forms they make possible; The works and concepts of the writer and artist Jalal Toufic; Emerging infrastructures for the arts in the Arab World. The workshop is for anyone interested in Walid Raad and/ or the topics outlined above, but requires no prior knowledge. The ticket price includes lunch at the bar LOKAL of Mousonturm.

Biography
Walid Raad
Walid Raad, born in Chbanieh, Lebanon in 1967, is one of the most important artists of his generation. He took part in documenta 11 and 13, and has had solo exhibitions at the Museo Nacional Thyssen-Bornemisza in Madrid, Moderna Museet in Stockholm, the Stedelijk Museum Amsterdam, the Louvre in Paris, and MoMA in New York. Raad is also a Professor of Art in The Cooper Union in New York.
