Evald Flisar

Evald Flisar, born in 1945, is the most widely translated Slovenian author and playwright (with 250 translations in 40 languages). He has received numerous awards and is a member of the Slovenian Academy of Sciences and Arts. Having studied in London (where he worked as an editor for 20 years), he returned to his native Slovenia in 1990, was President of the Slovene Writers’ Association for three terms (1995-2002) and in 1998 became editor-in-chief of the oldest Slovenian literary magazine Sodobnost (founded in 1933).
