Ousmane Sy aka Babson

Ousmane Sy, also known as Babson, was a sensation in the dance world. Originally coming from football and street dance, he broke all expectations with his choreography “Queen Blood” and conquered the international stages of high culture. As part of the artists’ collective that took over the management of the National Dance Centre in Rennes, he choreographed house dance that integrated influences from tap dance, capoeira and hip hop. His all-female Paradox-Sal ensemble is a unique fusion of urban dance techniques, from krumping to popping and locking. But this is not all – the dancers not only act as individual virtuosos, but also as a powerful corps de ballet.
