Condoco Dance Company

Beheld & Set and Reset/Reset

Staatstheater Darmstadt, Kleines Haus

Choreography/Dance

The Candoco Dance Company ranks among the top ensembles in Europe. Its performances are choreographic masterpieces that confound notions of the perfect body and familiar dance conventions: The company is made up of seven professional dancers – some with, some without disabilities.
The double bill “Beheld” and “Set and Reset/Reset” celebrates the 25th anniversary of the Candoco Dance Company. “Beheld” is a piece by Alexander Whitley, guest choreographer in residence at the Hessische Staatsballet during the 2015/16 season. In his piece, seven dancers explore the possibilities and limitations of space while challenging our viewing habits. “Set and Reset/Reset” is the restaging of the seminal piece from 1983 by famous American choreographer Trisha Brown. With a new set design and music by multi-media artist Laurie Anderson, Candoco presents its own unique take on this great show.
