With Danza Permanente, the Künstlerhaus Mousonturm and the Alte Oper Frankfurt continue their cooperation for the Musikfest Opus 131 – New Beginnings in Music, after the September performances of choroegrapher Xavier Le Roy based on compositions by Lachenmann and Haas. New Yorker choreographer DD Dorvillier translates the compositional structures and acoustic qualities of Beethoven’s String Quartet No. 15 in A-minor, Op. 132, which followed Op. 131, into dance movements.
Each of the four dancers is allocated one of the four instruments. The choreography follows the musical notation in every nuance and interweaves the danced voices into a compact and dynamic stream of movement.
