1 hour before shows/broadcasts begin at Mousonturm on all performance days and World Cup dates

Mousonturm succumbs to its passion for the round and the square! But we are also interested in critical inquiries into the economic and social aspects of football in general and the World Cup machinery in particular. Just in time for the start of the World Cup we will likewise be celebrating the opening of an exhibition on football from Afghanistan, Brazil, China, South Africa and Venezuela with video installations throughout the venue.

The programme is curated by Alfons Hug and features work by artists Lela Ahmadzai, Dias & Riedweg, Zhang Qing, Simon Gush and Muu Blanco. They distance themselves from the affirmative spectacle and go in search – far from the big stadiums – of the hidden sides of football and its ostensive trivialities.
The entire exhibit Football Worldwide – of which we will be showing five installations – will be presented at the Nassauische Kunstverein in Wiesbaden from 24.5 –13.7. And to make sure than no one misses an important game, we will also be broadcasting live all preliminary rounds of the German team, as well as the entire World Cup finals (see calendar)
