The lecture performance is known as one of the most unwieldy genres of performing arts. The performance duo Janna Pinsker and Wicki Bernhardt are undaunted by this situation and have initiated an experiment that is both humorous and exciting: “Heute mobben wir die Birds” is a lecture-performance for people age 11 and up. More than a mere introduction to performance art, the piece also confronts itself and the audience with the fact that everything is somehow interconnected and relevant in its own way. Not knowing is no longer an option when trying to find meaning in the jungle of life. Flooding the brain with information feeds the web of thoughts and speculations. That leaves it up to us to organize things and communicate with them. But how? In German
Biography
PINSKER+BERNHARDT
Janna Pinsker und Wicki Bernhardt arbeiten als Performanceduo mit Basis in Frankfurt am Main und Berlin. Sie haben sich in Gießen kennengelernt, wo sie Choreographie und Performance sowie Angewandte Theaterwissenschaft studierten. Das Duo macht Stücke für ein junges und altersgemischtes Publikum, die einen fantastischen und sympathischen Blick auf die Unzulänglichkeiten des Menschen werfen. Dabei spielt das Spannungsfeld zwischen Bühnen- und Szenenmaterial, Repräsentation und reiner Materialität eine zentrale Rolle. Janna Pinsker und Wicki Bernhardt waren Teilnehmerinnen der internationalen Forschungsresidenz next generation workspace, eine Kooperation zwischen dem Künstlerhaus Mousonturm und dem Festival Starke Stücke und Teil des PAP Mentoring Programms in Berlin. 2018 haben sie sieben Monate in einer Vermittlungsresidenz am Mousonturm szenisch zum Thema „Die Lust am Nicht-Verstehen“ geforscht. Dabei entstanden verschiedene Formate, wie ein gigantisches Scrabble-Spiel, bei dem man nach einer Aufführung über das Gesehene spekulieren kann.
