John the Houseband is a collective of choreographers with a fine ear for music. In their works, produced in all corners of Europe, they dissolve the boundaries between concert and performance, professionalism and hobby, skill and dedication. For Welcome to Caveland! four band members face a very special challenge: inspired by cave paintings, central elements of prehistoric “performances”, they open a musical cave laboratory and set out in search of “new primal forms” of sound and theatre. In the process, they never forget that they are also the heirs of 20th century underground movements. On select dates, they invite you to become part of the cave(wo)men community. Cave concerts for the very young are also planned (14 & 22 April).
Free admission * Little John: Pay as you wish * Concept, Music & Performance: Dennis Deter, Anja Müller, Alma Söderberg, Hendrik Willekens.
Biography
John the Houseband
