Last year, renown film composer and sound designer Teho Teardo and Blixa Bargeld, charismatic frontman of the Einstürzenden Neubauten, released one of the most surprising albums of 2013 with Still Smiling: cello, guitar, violins and a string quartet are delicately interwoven with electronic sounds. Bargeld sings, gasps and snarls, his syllables sharply contoured, in Italian, German and English. The album also features a new version of A Quiet Life and a cover version of Alone With The Moon by the Tiger Lilies. Great drama, quiet humour, discrete charm.
