With absurd ingenuity the trio infernal Phil Hayes, María Jerez and Thomas Kasebachr explore what is necessary for a certain event to attain cult status or take on mythological status right away. How does a banal occurrence become a great moment in time? How do stories become legends? How much destructivity and destruction is needed in the process? Legends & Rumours negotiates these questions either with discrete irony or tragic silliness and an unerring sense of timing. Historical importance is attributed to everyday events, the course of which can only be stopped in a paradox, backward chain reaction by the performance itself becoming a legend.
