“My Documents” is a program, created and curated by Lola Arias, in which artists from different backgrounds present lecture performances, based on personal research, a radical experience or a story that secretly obsesses them. In “Blue House”, the Chinese dancer and documentalist Zhang Mengqi shares her diary of the time she was locked in quarantine in Hubei province, as well as her art experiments in her father’s village. Over the past decade she has been part of the Memory Project, creating an archive of interviews with the older generation about their memories of the Great Chinese Famine and she built up a community space called Blue House where she does performances with kids inspired by these and other stories of the village.
Participation in the event takes place via the software Zoom by which the audience can see the performance live, make comments and exchange visions and insights afterwards. At the same time, the show can also be followed in the livestream.

Biography
Zhang Mengqi
Zhang Mengqi, geboren1987 in China, realisiert seit 2011 unter dem Titel „Self Portrait … 47 km“ eine inzwischen neunteilige, international vielbeachtete Serie von Dokumentarfilmen. Schauplatz ihrer Filme ist das Geburtsdorf ihres Vaters, das in der zentralchinesischen Provinz Hubei 47 Kilometer von der Stadt Suizhou liegt. Ausgehend von ihren Interviews und Recherchen zur großen chinesischen Hungersnot 1958 bis 1961 trägt sie mit ihren Filmen zum „Folk Memory Project“ bei, einem kollektiven Dokumentationsprojekt, das von dem chinesischen Avantgarde-Filmemacher Wu Wenguang initiiert wurde.
