Don’t compromise! Franco-Canadian choreographer Dave St-Pierre has followed this motto since the beginning of his career in the 2000’s. His visually stunning and physically intense pieces quickly gained him a reputation as one of the most unconventional voices in the international dance scene. After numerous group choreographies and excursions into the theatre world, e.g. at the Schauspiel Frankfurt for an acclaimed Macbeth production, St. Pierre himself returns to the stage to dance his own solo. “Néant” (“Void”) is literally breath-taking. The danced self-portrait is a declaration of love to air – a lifeblood that, when lacking, leads humans into a state of vertigo and the dark abyss.
