Nerve Collection

Mousonturm Saal

Hessische Theaterakademie/Performance/Tanzplattform Rhein-Main/Choreography

Right behind the skullcap, a constant electronic fire of nerve fibres in the brain creates one dodgy state of as-if after another. With a great love for confrontational humour, Caroline Creutzburg has made the appalling difference between brain and rest of the world, the starting point of her performance “Nerve Collection”. Like a spy invading her own nervous system, she documents her empathies and intolerances. Her inconspicuous approach allows her to remain unnoticed to herself and thus stumble upon landscapes of bizarre incompatibilities, the monotone pump of aggressive veins, long out-dated moral principles and ancient, holy auto-bio material. The solo, in which Caroline Creutzburg assembles her findings into an album of texts, songs and costumes, was awarded the Jury Prize 2017 at Hamburg’s Körber Studio for Young Directors.
