Titanic and M. A. Numminen open this year’s Frankfurt Book Fair with The Great Finternational TITANIC Reading Competition. Seven top satirists engage in a reading battle, chancellor to-be Oliver Maria Schmitt is moderating and Finland’s most famous multi-talented artist, actor, singer, writer, philosopher and entertainer M. A. Numminen will determine the winner. The TITANIC-trolls Thomas Gsella, Mark-Stefan Tietze, Torsten Gaitzsch, Moritz Hürtgen, Tim Wolff, Stefan Rürup and Michael Ziegelwagner will ridicule and glorify the Book Fair Guest Country Finland, transforming the Lokal im Mousonturm into a steaming literary sauna. The winner will receive a personal ceremonial whipping with birch twigs by solo jury member M. A. Numminen. Finally, ice baths for all!
