The Power Play

Mousonturm Studio 1

Made in Hessen/Performance/Theater

Flinntheater from Kassel penetrate German reality with impressions from the Nigerian megacity Lagos. The echoes of this confrontation point towards an imminent absurd-realistic future. What happens when Germany is struck by a weeklong power shortage and the Chinese build gigantic solar plants in the Sahara? How does Tesla the inventor want to prevent war just with the help of a remote controller? Why does the young Nigerian Ademola suddenly leave a Nollywood script to land in Kassel? And who will bring healing and salvation, when the crude oil of happiness runs dry? Two actors and a musician step onto a ritual playing field located somewhere between performance, storytelling and science fiction to evoke the future of global inversion with divine blackouts and the wireless energy of preaching
