Reading

When a plane suddenly disappears from the radar on its way from Kuala Lumpur to Beijing in March 2014, Helgard Haug’s own process of saying farewell to her father has just begun. His memory has become unreliable, orientation more and more difficult, finally her father’s forgetfulness is given a name: Dementia. “All right. Good night” was supposedly the pilot’s last radio message. After the impressive and award-winning stage production of her text, Helgard Haug now reads from the recently published book. In it, she traces the disappearance of the ill-fated flight, the search and the struggle of the bereaved families with uncertainty over a period of eight years and links her own experience with their journey of mourning.
