Offene Probe: Choir of the Slain

Mousonturm Probebühne 2 (4. OG)

Showing/Choreography

niv Acosta’s last piece Discotropic dealt with Afrofuturism and racist representations of the Black female body. Now, at Mousonturm for the first time, he will be providing some insights into his new work process: in Choir of the Slain, he turns his and our attention to the fabric of de-colonialism and Black  femme subjectivity together with a cast of Black vocal artists, performers and music producers. During his residency, he will begin composing music with Fannie Sosa and developing performances, drawing from their shared memories of murder and death. In this work process, radical self-care and the practice of alternative economies are part of dealing with the state of the Black body.
