Like no other, choreographer Bruno Beltrão has consolidated the vocabulary of street dance, breakdance and hip-hop with contemporary dance techniques. In the development of his newest piece CRACKz, Beltrão used the vast storehouse of dance videos and movement clips available on the Internet in a multitude of styles and aesthetics as his source material. For one whole year, he worked with his dancers on copying the foreign movements that they found online and inscribing them as choreographic material into their own bodies. The process focused on the idea of dislocation and disruption. The result is a nomadic movement experiment, a dynamic dance performance rooted in nowhere.
